Heat Pump Repair in Nottingham
If your heat pump is showing an error code, not heating, short-cycling or making unusual noises, we diagnose and repair air source heat pumps across Nottingham. A diagnostic visit costs from £120+VAT, and most faults — sensors, pumps, pressure, controls or defrost issues — are fixed on the first visit.
Common heat pump faults we fix
Most call-outs in Nottingham are for a handful of issues: error codes on the controller, low system pressure, a failed circulation pump, faulty flow or temperature sensors, frozen coils that won't defrost, and hot water cylinders not reaching temperature.
We carry common parts for the major brands, so a large share of repairs are completed on the first visit. Where a part needs ordering, we'll make the system safe and give you a fixed price before any further work.
When to call an engineer
Call us if your heat pump shows a fault code that returns after a reset, if radiators stay cool, if your electricity use jumps without explanation, or if the outdoor unit is unusually loud or iced over for long periods. Ice that clears within a short defrost cycle is normal in cold weather.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a heat pump repair cost in Nottingham?
A diagnostic visit costs from £120+VAT. Many repairs, such as resetting pressure or replacing a sensor, are completed during that visit; larger parts are quoted at a fixed price first.
Do you repair heat pumps you didn't install?
Yes. We repair air source heat pumps from all the major manufacturers, regardless of who installed them.
Why is my heat pump blowing cold air or not heating?
Common causes are a defrost cycle in progress, low system pressure, a blocked filter or strainer, incorrect controller settings or a failed sensor. If it lasts more than an hour, book a diagnostic visit.
Is ice on my outdoor unit a problem?
Light frost that clears during a defrost cycle is normal in winter. A thick block of ice that doesn't clear usually means a defrost or airflow fault that needs an engineer.
